Process safety/ Risk management
• Assisted with the development of site and transportation
security vulnerability assessment (SVA) protocol and
procedures for a major multinational chemical company.
Assisted with the development of value chain vulnerability
assessment protocols for high risk products.
• Developed and implemented Health, Safety &
Environmental (HSE) procedures for establishing OSHA
and company compliant process safety infrastructure
for four US onshore petroleum facilities. Procedures
were developed covering all aspects of the OSHA PSM
program, and those of the European based multinational
petroleum company.
• Served as the site’s Process Safety Management Coordinator for a
chemical plant, and trained/mentored a Coordinator for a period to 4
years. In the US helped develop process safety infrastructure,
including developed procedures, provide training and performed hazard
analysts to comply with state and federal regulations.
• Facilitated multi-month Process
Hazard Analysis using the HAZOP technique for grass roots plants or
major modifications to various chemical and refining facilities, as
well as water distribution, biotech and power generation facilities in
Canada.
• Implemented Management of Change
(MOC) and Incident Investigations processes for various facilities in
the USA. Provided training for various process safety processes.
Developed computer based processes for MOC and II based on MS Access
and Lotus Notes.
• Supported various projects in California to
help ensure compliance with Cal-OSHA PSM regulations,
Cal-EPA, and Cal-ARP Accidental Release Prevention program.
Management Solutions
• Assisted large membership organization (more than 1 million
members) to improve organizational effectiveness using Malcolm
Baldrige quality and continuous improvement processes.
• Performed organizational assessments to identify gaps relative
to Baldrige criteria. Assisted clients to develop Implementation Plans
to close gaps. Also provided trainng to personnel.
• Provided training in Team Building, Planning, Performance
Managment, and all other areas of Baldrige framework.
• As member of Board of Examiners for State of GA Quality Award
Process (4 years) and the State of Maryland Quality process (3 years),
examined numerous organizations in various industries.
Asia
• Facilitated multi-month Process Hazard Analysis
using the HAZOP technique for grass roots chemical facilities
in China (2 locations), Japan, Indonesia, and Philippines.
Europe
• Facilitated multi-month Process Hazard Analysis
using the HAZOP technique for grass roots chemical facilities
in Belgium.
• Led financial and operability audit for refinery
in Milfordhaven, Waves prior to sale.
South America
• Facilitated multi-month Process Hazard Analysis
using the HAZOP technique for grass roots chemical facilities
in Venezuela, Uruguay and Brazil.
• Performed hazard analyses for the National
Oil Company of Venezuela (PDVSA), Brazil (Petrobras)
and Uruaguay.
• Supported design and installation of grass roots refinery in
Venezuela for over 1-1/2 years. Performed hazard analyses, assisted
with the project management of change process, implemented pre-startup
safety reviews, and provided start up assistance relative to process
safety compliance.
